This set has the traditional chess set shape with a cross atop the piece which differs from the normal kiln the king sets which usally is an arrow club or spear.
The inspiration of this set was in deep sea antiquities where barnacles would attach themselves to pottery.
Many glazes were tried to achieve this and we are very happy with the outcome.
