Rather than reproducing lifelike figures, the original pieces relied on elegant, abstract forms to distinguish each rank. Their restrained geometry has endured for over a thousand years, reminding us that the essence of chess lies not in ornament, but in strategy.
Each piece in this collection is individually thrown and finished by hand in our London studio. No moulds are used and no two sets are ever identical. variations in form, texture and glaze are welcomed as evidence of the maker's hand.
